We believe dance brings people together
Our Mission
“Dance On The Edge exists to bring people together through movement and shared experiences. We create inclusive pathways — from free community events to accessible dance classes and teams — that support connection, well-being, and personal growth while uplifting local artists, small businesses, and families.”
OUR VISION
“We envision communities where dance, music, and shared experiences inspire lifelong connections, personal growth, and a stronger sense of belonging, creating a more connected society.”
A Community-Driven Idea
Dance On The Edge started as a group of friends organizing social dance gatherings simply to share what they loved. There was no grand plan — just a belief that dance brings people together in a way few things can.
As the community grew, something became clear: people weren’t just coming for music. They were finding connection, stepping away from isolation, and experiencing a welcoming, judgment-free space.
From Events to a movement
As interest grew, Dance On The Edge evolved into a structured organization to meet the demand and serve the community well. Over time, it became clear this was bigger than a single event series, it was an opportunity to create consistent spaces for connection and growth.
The shift to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ensured our work would remain mission-driven, community-centered, and focused on accessibility.
The transformation
The focus expanded beyond just dance to:
Providing opportunities for everyone—not just dancers, but families, vendors, artists, small businesses, and newcomers looking for connection.
Keeping community events free and accessible—so anyone can participate without barriers.
Offering affordable classes and teams for those who want structured learning and real progress over time.
Using dance to combat isolation—creating real human interaction in a world where people often self-isolate behind screens.
why it matters
Dance On The Edge offers a solution—a space where people can step away from screens, engage with others, and share real experiences. Social dancing isn’t just movement; it’s human connection. It supports physical health, mental well-being, and social bonds in a way few activities can.
What started as a small gathering has grown into a community movement. Whether you come to dance, learn, support local businesses, or simply enjoy the music, you’re part of something bigger. And when you register for classes, you’re also helping keep our community events free for everyone.
